York man, lacking after boat capsized, discovered lifeless in New Jersey river – York Dispatch


A lacking fisherman whose physique was recovered within the Delaware River final week was from York County, based on authorities in New Jersey. 

William G. Vandyke, 47, was discovered lifeless within the river round 2 p.m. Sept. 19 in New Jersey, state police mentioned in information launch. 

New Jersey State Police and United States Park Rangers assisted in recovering Vandyke’s physique.

In accordance with the assertion, Vandyke had been lacking since Sept. 8. New York State Police troopers together with different first responders went to an space of the Delaware River within the city of Deerpark, in Orange County, New York, round 7:25 a.m. for a report of a lacking fisherman. 

Deerpark, New York is situated close to the border with Pennsylvania.

A preliminary investigation revealed that two males have been fishing on the river close to Cherry Island State Park in New York when their boat capsized. One of many fishermen was situated onshore and acquired medical therapy. The assertion didn’t reveal the identification of the opposite fisherman. 

New York State Police together with Sparrowbush Hearth, Port Jervis Hearth, Matamoras Hearth and Swift Water Rescue Groups from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania assisted within the search after Vandyke went lacking.
