“The big layoff” – how did New Jersey fare?

[ad_1]

New Jersey often gets a bad rap across the country when comparisons are made to other states.

Part of that reputation is hard-earned. Some of it isn’t and falls under perception versus reality.

This latest result from New Jersey may or may not surprise you.

I’ll admit it surprised me a bit because our beloved Garden State so often underperforms when compared directly to other states across the country.

Not this time. New Jersey was a top performer. WalletHub.com surveyed America on the number of people who have quit their jobs.

They have compiled a state-by-state list of the highest churn rates.

New Jersey ranked 9th in America for the number of people who quit their jobs … in the most recent month and over the past year.

It was an absolutely horrifying phenomenon. A record number of Americans have quit their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s gotten so bad it’s been dubbed “The Great Resignation.”

NEW JERSEY JOB RESIGNATION STATISTICS

Leaving rate in the past month = 2.30%

Leaving rate in the past year = 2.36%

Overall rank in America = 9th lowest in country.
