Nick Mammano is joining Mercury – New Jersey Globe

A Bergen County political insider joins one of New Jersey’s most influential public affairs firms.

Mercury announced today that Nicholas M. Mammano, who has served as Chief of Staff of State Sen. Joseph Lagana (D-Paramus) since 2014, has joined its team as Senior Vice President.

The move unites Mammano with Michael Soliman, who heads the Mercury New Jersey office.

“When Nick and I worked together on Senator Menendez’s 2012 campaign, I saw firsthand his talent and work ethic,” said Soliman, who heads the New Jersey office. “Nick’s knowledge of local and state politics and government will be invaluable to our customers.”

Mammano, a 32-year-old Rutherford resident, teamed up with Lagana in 2013. Mammano was the assistant executive director of the Bergen County Democratic Organization and Lagana was a Paramus councilor seeking a vacant seat in the New Jersey State Assembly in the 38th district.

Lagana won this race with 443 votes.

“Nick’s political instincts and ability to bring people together have enabled him to spearhead a number of legislative successes that are really changing people’s lives,” Lagana said. “He’s leaving great footsteps and I wish him all the luck in the world.”

After graduating from Rutgers University, Mammano worked for Morford Drulis Associates and Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo (D-Hamilton).

“Nick brings a decade of experience in Bergen County and New Jersey politics and we are thrilled to join the Mercury team,” said Mercury partner Mo Butler.
