Jackson roundup: East Jackson cruises in win over Addison


The East Jackson girls basketball team cruised to a 65-14 win over Addison on Thursday, jumping out to a 20-5 lead after one quarter and rolling from there.

Mariah Kerley scored 26 for the Trojans. Brynn Mericle added 16 points. Addisyn Rudd and Savana Stewart each scored eight.

Jonesville 60, Concord 30: Returning to conference play after a nonconference loss to Arbor Prep on Monday, the Jonesville girls basketball team doubled up on Concord.

Marissa Lehman led the Comets with 12 points and four rebounds. Mackenzie Baker had eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Julie Mach had nine points.

Springport 53, Quincy 34: The Spartans improved to 11-3 overall with the win.

Springport led 13-5 after one, 31-14 at halftime and 46-22 after three.

Eight different players scored for Springport with Ryann Locke leading the way with 24 points. Maddux Overweg added 16.

Reading 52, Union City 25: The Rangers jumped out to a 19-6 lead after one and cruised from there.

Mallory Wheeler led the way with 17 points. Alexis Engel added 11. Aubree Ervans and Emily Stewart scored nine.

Bronson 61, Homer 36: An early 20-4 deficit was too much for the Trojans to overcome in a loss.

Allison Edler led Homer with eight points. Kennedy Miller had eight rebounds. Paige Austin had seven points and five assists.

Michigan Center 50, Manchester 36: What was an 18-12 Cardinals lead after one quarter grew to a 34-18 lead at halftime in Michigan Center’s win.

Samantha Wynn had 16 points for the Cardinals. Riley Brown added nine.

Peyton Fether had 12 points for the Flying Dutchmen. Mia Steele had 12 rebounds. Jordyn Porter had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Marlena Ballnik had five assists.

Columbia Central 53, Hillsdale 20: The Golden Eagles cruised to a win over the Hornets in the LCAA.

Zoie Bamm had 22 points and Anna McCollum added 10 for Columbia Central. Bamm and Tadassa Brown each had eight rebounds. Brown also had eight assists as Columbia Central as a team had 17 assists on 25 baskets.

Lakewood 47, Leslie 37: The Blackhawks dropped a GLAC game as Lakewood led 14-9 after one, 25-14 at halftime and 35-26 after three.

Blake Stofer scored 12 points for Leslie.
