Getinge opens state-of-the-art Experience Center in New Jersey to showcase innovations in healthcare and medical technology

Gothenburg, Sweden, January 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Getinge today opened the company’s new Experience Center in Wayne, New Jersey with a special virtual event attended by leaders from healthcare, technology and government. The event featured a program of demonstrations of the latest technological advances to help hospitals increase efficiency and improve outcomes for patients suffering from health conditions such as COVID-19, cardiovascular disease and other serious illnesses.

During a virtual launch event hosted via LinkedIn Live, Getinge executives, along with healthcare and government leaders, unveiled the Experience Center, designed to replicate hospital and other healthcare settings such as operating rooms and intensive care units. During the livestream tour, attendees learned about the specific applications in Getinge’s technology that offer a range of benefits in sterile processing, digital healthcare solutions, ICU and life sciences, including:

  • advances in ventilation technology for COVID patients and others with lung conditions;
  • a cardiopulmonary support system that processes blood outside the body for patients with heart or lung problems;
  • a vein harvesting system for use in cardiac surgery;
  • state-of-the-art sterilization systems that seamlessly integrate with existing hospital infrastructures to speed up processes and protect patients and staff from the spread of dangerous infections, including COVID; and,
  • Software systems and AI technologies that can help hospitals operate more efficiently by better managing services so more patients can access care as quickly as possible

The program included messages from government leaders and officials, including the US Senator Cory Booker, Congressman Mikey Sherill, and Christopher Vergano, Mayor of Wayne, New Jersey.
