Buckingham Palace points picture of Queen Elizabeth's ultimate resting place – Reuters UK

LONDON, Sept 24 (Reuters) – Buckingham Palace revealed {a photograph} on Saturday from Queen Elizabeth’s ultimate resting place on the royal chapel in Windsor, that includes a ledger stone bearing her identify and people of her mother and father, and husband Prince Philip.

The stone, fabricated from black Belgian marble, sits within the King George VI Memorial Chapel which Queen Elizabeth commissioned in 1962 as a burial place for George VI, her father. The queen was interred there on Monday after a state funeral in Westminister Abbey.

The brass lettering on the stone reads “George VI 1895-1952 / Elizabeth 1900-2002” on the highest two traces, adopted by a garter star after which “Elizabeth II 1926-2022 / Philip 1921-2021” on the underside two traces.

Queen Elizabeth’s sister, Princess Margaret, can also be interred on the chapel, at Windsor Fortress west of London.

Elizabeth died on Sept. 8 at Balmoral Fortress, her summer season residence within the Scottish highlands, after 70 years on the throne. Her son Charles has develop into king.
